Logistics & Warehouse Program
Step Into a Fast-Moving Industry
The Logistics & Warehouse program is BridgeWorks' newest training track, designed to meet the surging demand for skilled warehouse and supply chain workers across the region. In just 8 weeks, participants earn forklift operator certification, OSHA safety credentials, and practical skills in inventory management, warehouse operations, and supply chain fundamentals. With e-commerce and distribution continuing to expand, graduates enter a job market with immediate opportunities and strong advancement potential.
Program Overview
- Duration: 8 weeks (Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM)
- Cost: Free to all participants
- Class Size: 20 participants per cohort
- Placement Rate: Data collection in progress (projected 80%+ based on employer demand)
- Average Starting Wage: $16.00/hour
- New Cohorts: Launch monthly
Curriculum
Weeks 1-2: Warehouse Foundations & Safety
Participants begin with essential safety training and an introduction to warehouse environments:
- OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Safety Certification -- hazard awareness, materials handling, fire safety, personal protective equipment
- Warehouse layout, workflow, and standard operating procedures
- Receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes
- Introduction to warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Workplace communication and team coordination on the warehouse floor
Weeks 3-4: Forklift Certification & Equipment Operation
Hands-on training in powered industrial truck operation:
- Sit-down counterbalance forklift operation
- Reach truck and order picker familiarization
- Pre-operation inspection and daily maintenance checks
- Load handling, stacking, and safe maneuvering techniques
- OSHA-compliant forklift operator certification exam
Weeks 5-6: Inventory Management & Supply Chain Basics
Participants learn the systems and processes that keep goods moving efficiently:
- Inventory control methods (FIFO, LIFO, cycle counting)
- Barcode scanning and RF device operation
- Purchase orders, bills of lading, and shipping documentation
- Introduction to supply chain concepts (procurement, transportation, distribution)
- Demand forecasting basics and stock replenishment
- Returns processing and reverse logistics
Weeks 7-8: Career Readiness & Placement
The final two weeks focus on professional development and connecting with employers:
- Advanced warehouse safety scenarios and emergency response
- Resume writing and interview preparation tailored to logistics roles
- Mock interviews with warehouse and distribution hiring managers
- Employer site visits to distribution centers and fulfillment operations
- Individual career planning sessions with a BridgeWorks career coach
- Job matching with employer partners who have immediate openings
Certifications Earned
- OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Safety Card -- widely required across warehouse and logistics employers
- Forklift Operator Certification -- OSHA-compliant powered industrial truck operator credential, valid for three years
- Hazardous Materials Awareness Certificate -- basic HazMat identification and handling procedures
- First Aid / CPR Certification

Eligibility Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Returning citizen (involvement with the criminal justice system)
- Able to commit to the full 8-week program schedule
- Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a warehouse environment
- Basic reading and math proficiency (assessment provided during enrollment)

- Weekly stipend to help cover living expenses

- One-on-one mentorship with a logistics professional
- Behavioral health support and peer counseling
- Safety gear provided at no cost
