Become a Mentor
Make a direct impact by guiding a participant through training and into their career.
Mentorship
What Mentors Do
Every BridgeWorks participant is paired with a professional mentor who provides one-on-one guidance throughout the training period and for six months after graduation. Mentors are the backbone of our retention success, helping participants navigate the transition from training to lasting employment.
Weekly Meetings
Meet with your mentee for 60 to 90 minutes each week, in person or virtually, to discuss progress, challenges, and upcoming milestones in their training journey.
Career Guidance
Help your mentee set realistic career goals and develop concrete action plans, including target employers, required certifications, and professional development steps.
Network Sharing
Introduce your mentee to professional contacts in their target industry, connect them with hiring managers, and help them build a lasting professional network.
Progress Tracking
Coordinate with the BridgeWorks career services team to monitor mentee progress, flag potential issues early, and ensure consistent support throughout the program.
Encouragement
Provide consistent emotional support and accountability, celebrate milestones, and help your mentee navigate setbacks with resilience and confidence.
What to Expect
Commitment & Requirements
The formal mentorship period spans nine months: three months alongside your mentee during their active training and six months of continued support after graduation. This sustained relationship is a key factor in long-term job retention.
