As we move into the fall season, BridgeWorks is launching its most ambitious program slate to date. Building on the momentum of a strong first half of 2024, we are expanding our training offerings, deepening our employer partnerships, and enhancing the support services that help our participants succeed.
New Training Tracks
Healthcare Support Services. We are proud to announce the launch of our healthcare support training track, developed in partnership with three regional hospital systems and two community health centers. This twelve-week program prepares participants for roles in patient services, medical records, healthcare logistics, and clinical support. Participants will earn certifications in medical terminology, electronic health records, and infection control protocols.
The healthcare sector consistently ranks among the strongest employers in our region, with thousands of unfilled support positions. This new track allows us to connect participants with career opportunities in a stable, growing industry that offers clear advancement pathways.
Advanced Manufacturing Level Two. Based on employer demand and graduate feedback, we are adding an advanced tier to our manufacturing training track. This program is designed for graduates of our introductory manufacturing track who want to move into CNC programming, quality assurance, or production supervision roles. The six-week program includes both classroom instruction and supervised shop time at partner facilities.
Expanded Employer Partnerships
This fall, we welcome fourteen new employer partners to our network, bringing the total to over 160 organizations across the region. Notable additions include a major distribution center that will hire directly from our logistics track, a technology staffing firm that will provide contract-to-hire placements for our IT graduates, and a construction firm specializing in energy-efficient residential building.
Each new partner has completed our employer readiness process, which includes alignment on fair hiring practices, structured onboarding expectations, and ongoing communication with BridgeWorks career services staff. We are selective about our partnerships because the quality of the employer experience directly affects our graduates' long-term success.
Enhanced Support Services
Participant success depends on more than technical training. This fall, we are expanding our support services in several important areas.
Child Care Assistance. Through a new grant from the county Department of Social Services, we can now provide subsidized child care for participants enrolled in full-time training programs. This addresses one of the most frequently cited barriers to program participation, especially for single parents.
Transportation Support. We have expanded our transit assistance program to include subsidized ride-share credits for participants who live outside of public transit routes. Reliable transportation is essential for training attendance and job placement, and we are committed to removing this barrier.
Digital Access. Every participant enrolled in fall programs will receive a loaner Chromebook and twelve months of subsidized internet service. As our programs incorporate more digital tools and some hybrid learning components, ensuring that every participant has reliable technology access is a priority.
How to Enroll
Fall cohorts begin in October, with orientation sessions scheduled throughout September. Prospective participants can apply online through our website or visit our intake center during walk-in hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is no cost to participate in BridgeWorks programs.
We encourage community partners, social workers, parole officers, and others who work with individuals seeking career opportunities to refer potential participants. Our intake team is available to answer questions and guide applicants through the enrollment process.
This fall represents a significant step forward for BridgeWorks. We are reaching more people, serving more industries, and providing stronger support than ever before. We look forward to welcoming our next cohort of participants.
